CARSTEN HÖLLER

Carsten H?¶ller was born in 1961 in Brussels, and began work in science before venturing in art. His work deals with emotions, amplifying the viewers??™ senses with his challenging, intricate and technically sophisticated pieces. Much of his work is based on his audience??™s feelings after experiencing the piece: the viewer is a necessary ingredient for H?¶ller??™s often interactive work. Frisbee House (2000), a configuration of futuristic-looking holey domes, saw the audience throwing featherweight frisbees across the gallery and into the ???frisbee house??™. Carsten H?¶ller has had solo exhibitions across Europe and internationally and has participated extensively in group shows, including Utopia Station at the Venice Biennale (2003); I always say the same of what you say, Shugoarts, Tokyo (2005); and Commonwealth, Tate Modern, London (2003). He currently lives and works in Stockholm.
